About Burn CD

Our purpose

Burn CD is a free web app for making a virtual mix CD and sending it to someone as a link. It brings back the deliberate, personal feeling of choosing songs, arranging their order, writing a note, and giving the result to a friend.

How it works

Choose songs, create a virtual CD, add an optional handwritten note, and share its unique link. Recipients can open the CD in a retro-inspired player and hear short music previews. Burn CD does not write files to a physical disc.

Music and previews

Burn CD uses music-search results and 30-second preview audio supplied through the iTunes Search API. Apple documents that this API can return music catalog results and promotional audio previews; the music and artwork remain subject to the rights and terms of their owners and providers.
